As usual, I haven't posted anything.... again... for such a long time. I've been extremely busy in the past few weeks since my Tokyo trip with work, business trips, parties, and cramming for my Japanese course... This weekend seems kind of weird since I have nothing really important to do... I guess this is the break that I've been waiting for such a long time. I guess I have to write something about my Tokyo trip, hmmmm, about a month ago? Eeeek...

My trip to Tokyo was great inspite of the awfully long trip to and back... I took the cheapest way and that was by overnight bus... I saved more than half the price if I were to take the bullet train. I went to so many places but my favourites were the "Kaminari Mon" (Lightning Gate) in Asakusa and Harajuku. I hang out with good friends I met in Toronto. It was so 懐かしかった!!! It was so crowded in the shrine where the Kaminari Mon was but still managed to snap lots of photos. This was my favourite photo of myself and friends in Asakusa.

I also went to Tsukishima for Tokyo's specialty - "monja", which is almost like okonomiyaki... a mixture of meat, vegetables, egg, etc... and you cook it yourself right on your own table. It was delicious. I also went to Yoyogi Park in Shinjuku and had picnic with friends, played volleyball, etc... We walked around Harajuku, an area where lots of teenagers hang out and show off their out-of-this world costumes... I was so jealous because I wanted to wear one myself... haha... but I thought I was too old for it... argh. There's a fashion that's "in" in Japan right now, well to some, and they call it "gosu-rori", short for "Gothic-Lolita" which is a mixture of Western gothic style and a pinch of cute(?) maid costume... They look like cute scary dolls... hehe. Not all were gosu-rori of course... there were kids just dressed up like anime characters.

We also went to Meiji Shrine, a famous shrine in Tokyo... then to Meiji Garden, Shibuya, then dinner at this amazing restaurant in Roppongi called ... I forgot... then continued on clubbing... Wow, I was so amazed with the night life in Roppongi... there were so many guys pimping!!! And all of them, and I'm not kidding, were black guys... and I kept asking myself why... oh well. The next morning, I saw many all-night-clubbers lying drunk on the streets... I even saw a couple of guys dragging an unconscious guy out of the club and dumping him into a corner! No matter what, I really liked the night life in Tokyo... It reminded me so much of my beloved Toronto! I stayed over at my friends' places during my stay there... and so different places every night... K's family was so nice to me... They really took care of me and I really appreciated it... I just love her Dad!!! haha. I will definitely come back to Tokyo and see them again! I also went to Akihabara, the famed "Electronic City" of Japan and bought a really cheap but very cool watch... ^_^

A couple of weeks after Tokyo, I went party-hardy with my fellow English teachers and friends in the next city for one of the English teachers' birthday party, danced all night and got really drunk... haha. I was going to party all-night and just wait for the first train in the morning back home, but no, I couldn't stay up any longer... my head was killing me... thank God, one friend, asked me to stay with him in a hotel he was planning to stay... well, not exactly a real hotel... We ended up in a "love hotel"!!! Well, I was actually very curious about these "love hotels" and so I agreed to stay there with him... haha... just for fun! Man! These hotels were amazing! Japanese love hotels are very discreet hotels were guys drag girls (girlfriends, hookers, etc.) for sex... haha. They are so discreet that everything is automated! You will never see any of the staff in the hotel... The hotel is coin-operated! haha... It was a very interesting experience... I don't mind coming back! But at the same time, it's kind of embarrassing because of their reputation.. .hehe.

Nope, the party never ended there... The week after that, I had to go to Kobe for the JET re-contracting conference for three days, but I decided to stay for the whole weekend to just hang out with friends living in Osaka/Kobe area. I got so drunk every night, not kidding!! Kobe was amazing! Osaka is still my favourite though... I did 2 day-straight-all-nighters while in Osaka... wow! ... but Sunday morning right after the second one, I decided to just leave and go home straight to my little town in western Japan... I was sooo exhausted and kind of feel guilty for spending so much money... but it was all worth it... I didn't regret it at all.

The end... hehe.
