In Hiroshima now staying in a not too bad hotel... I had to to stay in Hiroshima to catch my very early flight to Tokyo Narita tomorrow... from there, I'm flying back home to Toronto and stay there for a month... then go back to Japan to finish my last year contract... I'm so excited to go home!
Today I went around Hiroshima City's shopping area and bought myself a nice Beams wallet... I love it! I love the colour the most.
... then I bought two more souvenirs to bring back home to Canada. Then I had Hiroshima's famous Hiroshima okonomiyaki and beer at Okonomimura, a building within the city's shopping district that have a bunch of okonomiyaki stands... The food was too much for me and I couldn't finish it... I think the restaurant staff was not very happy because I could not finish it but I told him it was really delicious.... Oh well.
... must go to bed early to catch my early bus to the airport tomorrow!

I had a yummy taiyaki after lunch today in Fukuyama. The filling was custard wrapped in mochi-like stuff. First time I had a taiyaki like this.

Ushimado Festival and Last Get-Together in Okayama
It was a very busy weekend for me. I went to Ushimado in Seto-uchi in Okayama to see my friends who came with me the same year I came to Japan... that was our last get-together in Okayama and so I was sad a bit... but I knew I would see them again, someday.
We all participated in a festival in the town. I beat the drums (taiko), danced bon odori and had some drinks. It was fun. I will miss D, D and W so much!

Going-Away Presents

I've just finished making going-away presents for three precious friends who I'd been hanging out with in Japan ever since I came here... I will miss them dearly... We will be hanging out together this coming Saturday and join the local festival over there...

I've been doing well with my new rules of the day.
I wake up at 6:00 AM, then leave my apartment at 7:45 for work... then when I get home, I clean one part of the house (today, I cleaned the toilet), then eat dinner, study one chapter of one of my three Japanese books, do my usual 15-minute exercise... then be in bed by midnight...
... but I'm 3 minutes overdue for my bedtime now... oh well... hehe.

Today is what the Japanese call 「梅雨明け」(tsuyuake), the end of the rainy season... and that means today is also the start of the very hot and humid Japanese summer... Two more weeks and I'll be going home to Canada for the summer for a month!!! I can't wait!

I went to two farewell parties this weekend... one was a fellow JET from my hometown in Canada who I came with to Japan... Coincidentally, she was assigned to a city that was next to mine so we hung out a lot... but she is moving to Tokyo next month and so I'm going to miss her so much... She was my shopping and dinner/lunch buddy here in Japan... It looks like I'm going to visit Tokyo more from now on :-)
The other party I went to was a farewell party for two other fellow JETs assigned to my city... One, a third year JET, and the other, a second year JET... It was really great spending time with them in Japan... I'm going to miss them too...

I have been looking for the ultimate desktop that fits to my liking... and so far I've found this. This is my new desktop theme.
I have been using Candybar 3, a Mac OS X icon/dock customization software. It's a great software. I got bored with the normal leopard theme and so I've decided to spice up my desktop a bit :-)

Argh... I'm so upset with someone right now... This girl wants everything her way and if something doesn't go her way, she complains and complains... I've been very patient with her but I've had it today. I'm not going to be babysitting her anymore.
